Faconnable comes from the French word faconner, which means “handcrafting.”
Faconnable began life in the South of France as a tailor's shop in 1950. Under the leadership of the founder's son, Albert Goldberg, the company opened its first boutique in Monte Carlo in 1973. Watches were introduced in 1989 and today under the resourceful eye of Michel Benatar, the company's designer and Director of Faconnable Timepieces; it now produces around 15,000 timepieces annually - 90% of which are jewelry watches.
The breakdown of the sales figures is USA 25%, Middle East 25%, Europe 40% and Asia 10%.
Faconnable was taken over by Nordstrom Inc. in 2000, a company that enjoyed net sales of US$ 6 billion in 2002. Luminox

All Luminox watches must undergo additional manufacturing steps that no other watch in the world requires. The Luminox self-powered illumination system must be installed into each and every watch. It is a costly and time consuming endeavor but it is what makes Luminox watches special and different from all other watches in the world. Each watch employs tiny self-powered micro gas lights developed by the world leader in the luminous compound industry. These micro gas lights (borosilicate glass capsules) are installed into the hands, hour markers and, when necessary, bezels of our watches.
Luminox watches need no external light source to “charge” the point on the dial or hands in order to glow as so conventional luminous watches. Nor do they require the push of a button to light the dial as do watches with electroluminescence. The US military has long recognized the advantages of micro gas light sources and their use is specified in procurement specification MIL-W-46374F.

The brand Officina Del Tempo makes its entry in the traditionally Swiss world of horology, more than three years ago, with a collection of watches characterized by the typical “made in Italy” taste.
The distribution begins in 2000 and already by the end of 2001; the brand is present in the best watch retail stores. The news spread by the agents working in the field immediately lead important results on the sales market. The success is guaranteed: it is confirmed by the “Tonneau Limited” model, undisputed leader of the collection but also by the “Marrakech2”, with silicone-gel strap, already worn by VIPS in the sport and show-business field.
Great interest arises not only on the Italian market: other foreign countries confirm that Basel World Watch and Jewellery Show, the world famous watch exhibition, represents a moment of fundamental importance to make contacts for the distribution of the brand abroad.
Today the brand “Officina Del Tempo” is present on the markets in Spain, Portugal, Brazil, United States, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Middle East, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Serbia and Montenegro. More than ten years ago, Gianni Versace launched its first watch collection and at that time, watches and jewelry were merely considered by the Italian fashion industry as accessories. Step by step, through developing the highest quality products, the Versace SA , located in Switzerland, is regarded prominently as a very successful luxury business.
By 1993, Versace was seriously considering to develop a jewelry collection that would be as rich and luxurious as the clothes the house designed. After two years of preparation, the ATELIER collection was born. Made up of exclusive and even one-of-a-kind models, it proved to be sophisticated, opulent and sumptuous. Your authentic Versace watch is internationally warranted by Versace SA for a period of 24 (twenty-four) months from the date of purchase under the terms of this warranty. This warranty covers all defects in material and workmanship existing at the time your Versace watch was sold.
Important: The warranty does not cover the following:
- damage caused by accidents, improper use or theft or loss of the watch.
Also excluded from the warranty are
- bracelet
- battery
- crystal glass
- damage caused by wear and tear and all direct or indirect damage caused by the aforementioned circumstances.
